Qormi faces water scarcity due to limited natural resources, exacerbated by climate change and urban development. It is also highly prone to flooding , especially in areas along urbanized natural valleys.

We want to Reverse the Paradigm by Transforming Rainwater from A Problem to A Resource

We propose collecting rainwater from the urban areas and transporting it to the agricultural areas threatened by drought.

Local Rainwater Management Systems (LRMS) are distributed over urban area, creating a distributed rainwater control system . Each LRMS consists of rainwater collection systems on houses and buildings. Intelligent controller consists of traditional controller with implemented Deep Learning model that predicts potentially dangerous events, such as floods and draughts by analysing weather information.
